The Southeastern Pro Rodeo in Ocala is a yearly event in Ocala, Florida. The purpose of this site is to showcase photography from the recent event, and to promote the upcoming rodeo by providing relevant information to users.
Ocala Rodeo utilized a custom in-house Content Management System built by NetSource Technologies, Inc. Photoshop was used to create the design of the site, and HTML, CSS and JavaScript were used for the site’s development. Since it is a rodeo, I wanted to utilize a lot of wood texture as well as the color red to convey a sense of action. I also knew that photography was going to be a key portion of the site, since that is what will get people excited to attend the event.
The challenge with Ocala Rodeo was coming up with an eye-catching design and visual hierarchy. There was a lot of information to be conveyed on the site, so it was a bit challenging to try and work as much of that into the design as possible without the site becoming cluttered.
