Today’s Veterinary Business/Nursing/Practice are three informational article-driven websites run by NAVC, a veterinary organization and long-standing client of PHOS Creative. Before the redesign, each of these sites had a separate code base and slightly different designs. The goal of this project was to build a new theme with separate child themes for each site, so that any major changes could be made in one place and would affect all three sites.
WordPress was integral in building these sites. The central site, NAVC.com was also built by me and leverages the WordPress “multi-site” functionality to help the client better organize the half dozen sites that they operate. I also utilized the WordPress child theme functionality, allowing me to structure out the look of all three sites in one place, and then use the child themes to style each site individually.
Because these sites had been up for almost a decade, the scope and scale of each one were very large. There were thousands of articles to import and manage, and new articles coming in continually throughout the time of the build. It was an extra challenge to make sure all content was accounted for on the launch day.
