Triple Crown Homes

Triple Crown Homes is a local home builder in the Ocala, Florida area. The primary goal with this site was to showcase floorplans and communities under development by Triple Crown Homes.

Note – the site has since been redesigned.

Technology

Triple Crown Homes was built on WordPress, using a custom theme as well as a variety of plugins. I was responsible for the entirety of the project – from the initial design, to the final launch. The site was initially design in Photoshop, then built out in WordPress. I had built many sites prior to this, but this was the first time I was required to use WordPress on a good sized site. I had very little experience with it before this.

Challenges

There were many challenges that came with the design and development of this site. From the design standpoint, this was the first time I had designed a site for a home builder. I tried to develop a clean, organized look that focused as much on photography as possible. The development of the site was the most challenging part of the project. The client was insistent on using WordPress as the Content Management System, so I got an in-depth crash course with the inner workings of WordPress. This was the project that gave me the confidence to pursue a position at PHOS Creative, a primarily WordPress-based agency.
